So DevonThink produces an unique Fingerprint for my file and no matter if I rename, move or edit the file, I can access it through this link. These links (I don’t know if there is a special name for them, but I saw similar links in other apps, so I’m guessing it’s an macOS feature) look like the following: x-devonthink-item://3E364AA0-F93D-492D-9D4A-AEC6013612D2 For this purpose DevonThink is able to give out Permanent Links, which are common for use in other Apps like Microsoft OneNote or GTD Software. If I’m going to reorganise my database or even just renaming the file, this link will be useless. If I drag and drop one of my PDFs from my DevonThink GUI into JabRef, it’s going to copy the path of the database in “Finder Structure”.įor Example it will save: :/Users/Fabniam/Documents/DevonThink/Studium.dtBase2/Files.noindex/pdf/5/Secondary symptoms of dyslexia a comparison of self esteem and anxiety profiles of children with and without dyslexia.pdf:PDFīut as you can see in the path, JabRef copy the Link of the database. So, I have pasted the first two entries, just to make things clear.I just started working with JabRef and while I’m trying to integrate my collected eBooks into JabRef, I have problems linking my files properly. Strangely enough, the first entry is imported (without a pdf, or any external link, or notes attached though). Please ensure that the file is valid and try again." "An error occurred while trying to import the selected file.

So when I try with the zotero.layout export filter, I get the following error.

Please wait until it has finished and try again."Īfter which, Firefox hangs and has to be re-started. "Could not save item: A Zotero operation is currently in progress.

Note: I have not mentioned the abstract in full in all cases. So I have tried a RIS import and importing via the zotero.layout method suggested in the link I gave above. Got it with the groups idea - I was thinking the same, I just thought there may be a neater way of doing the same. So is there any way for a 'really smooth' migration from JabRef to Zotero? Can someone please lay it out stepwise for me?

I started with the same problem faced with a lot of people who have already posted on this forum, but inspite of employing the troubleshooting suggested, I am unable to resolve the issue - if I export a library from JabRef to Zotero, the pdf and external files are lost moreover, the sub-groups I have made in JabRef are not getting transferred.
